SPAR has a strong heritage in Ireland in supporting local communities through sport and in particular athletics. SPAR has been a title sponsor of a number of athletics events in Ireland over the past decade.
SPAR supports international and grass roots football through its official partnership with the Football Association of Ireland (FAI). SPAR signed a four year sponsorship deal in 2015 and part of this includes title sponsorship of the largest primary schools’ competition in the country, the SPAR FAI Primary School 5s Programme.
SPAR encourages consumers to choose a better alternative for their health and wellbeing through the SPAR Better Choices programme, which launched in 2016 and has rolled out in stores nationwide, fronted by ambassadors Claudine Keane, model and Seamus Coleman, Irish Football star.
The brand is also famous for its iconic tree symbol and strapline ‘Under the Tree at SPAR’.
