TV star Karl Henry teamed up with Brosnan’s EUROSPAR last week to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of the EUROSPAR Fastnet Triathalon.
The fitness expert was in town on Friday evening to meet and greet athletes signing up for the big race. Karl, who was in the Sailing Centre from 8.30pm, said he was thrilled to see so many people taking part.
Karl said, “A triathlon is a real test of endurance, and it’s a testament to the calibre of local athletics that so many people from the area took part. I was delighted to see such a great turn-out – you obviously take your fitness seriously in county Cork.”
The race started at 10.30am on Saturday morning and the fun continued all day long, with Cork’s 96fm Street Fleet broadcasting live on location. EUROSPAR Schull retailer Jeremy Brosnan, who sponsored the event, made sure there was plenty to do for all the family with face-painting, a bouncy castle, spot prizes and more.
Jeremy said, “We’re delighted to be able to support the EUROSPAR Fastnet Triathalon. It’s a great event and it’s fantastic to see it reach its 10th anniversary, I’d like to thank everyone in the Schull Triathalon Club for all their hard work. Being part of the local community is really important to us in EUROSPAR Schull, so I’m delighted to see so many local people came along to support us.”
Head of EUROSPAR Sean Lavin said, “EUROSPAR supermarkets are proud to promote a healthy, active lifestyle, whether through our association with Operation Transformation, our ‘Feel Good’ healthy eating and lifestyle plan, or through local sponsorships by individual retailers. I would like to congratulate Jeremy and all the team in EUROSPAR Schull on a fantastic anniversary celebration for the EUROSPAR Fastnet Triathlon, I’m sure everyone who was there on the day had a great time.”
