Londis The Faythe has become the first location in County Wexford to introduce a Bulk Reverse Vending Machine (RVM) as part of Ireland’s Deposit Return Scheme (DRS), marking a significant step forward for recycling access in the region and the communities’ circular economy.

The Envipco Quantum Outdoor Bulk Feed RVM allows customers to return large volumes of empty plastic bottles and aluminium cans quickly and efficiently, providing a new level of convenience and service for Wexford.

Speaking about the roll out, the owner of Londis The Faythe, Michael Hanrahan said: “We’re delighted to bring this technology to Londis The Faythe and to be the first in Wexford to offer a Bulk RVM service. It makes recycling much easier for our customers and the local community, along with supporting our wider sustainability efforts as we move towards a more circular economy.”

Conor Hayes, Sales Director at Londis, added: “This is a great investment and will provide another level of customer service for the area, along with the environmental benefits. I want to pay credit to Michael, Phily and the rest of the team for making this happen and enabling an easier and more efficient way to recycle, which will be a great help to local families, businesses, charities, sports clubs and other community groups.”

Nick Preater, Key Account Manager with Envipco Ireland said: “We’re thrilled to announce the installation of our first bulk‑feed Reverse Vending Machine (RVM) in Co. Wexford, now live at Londis The Faythe. This is a major milestone in bringing fast, convenient, and high‑volume container returns to communities across Wexford and beyond. A huge thank you to Michael Hanrahan and the entire team at Londis The Faythe for their continued leadership in supporting the Deposit Return Scheme (DRS) and championing sustainability initiatives that benefit both customers and the wider community. We’re proud to partner with them on this significant project. The Envipco Quantum bulk RVM is a genuine game changer for high‑volume returns offering users touchless and continuous, high‑speed container acceptance and providing large storage capacity for operators reducing the need for frequent emptying and lowering servicing time for retailers. Its compact footprint makes it ideal for space‑conscious stores, while the self-contained housing ensures a smooth and efficient installation process. Together, we’re shaping a cleaner, more circular future, and making recycling easier and more accessible for everyone.”

The bulk‑feed design is especially beneficial for local schools, sports clubs, charity and community groups that collect drinks containers in large quantities for fundraising and environmental initiatives.

This investment by Londis The Faythe forms part of the broader efforts of BWG Foods and independent retailers around Ireland who are introducing innovative recycling infrastructure that supports local communities and national environmental goals.
