BWG Foods has announced the launch of Market Square Select, a new own-brand range developed in collaboration with Irish producers and made exclusively available to independent MACE and LONDIS retailers nationwide. The new range brings together a carefully selected group of Irish suppliers to deliver a premium range of everyday products with a strong combination of quality and value for consumers.
Inspired by the role of the traditional Irish market square as the heart of community and enterprise, the brand reflects a shared commitment to trust and local connection across the BWG retail network with products developed in collaboration with suppliers from Galway, Cork, Wexford, Meath and Waterford.
The launch of Market Square Select reflects BWG Foods’ continued investment in supporting its independent retailer network through high-quality own-brand innovation, while also creating meaningful commercial opportunities for Irish food producers. By connecting local suppliers with a national retail platform, the range enables customers to access premium Irish products in their local stores while supporting regional enterprise and supply chains.
Jamie Tevlin, BWG Foods Trading Director, says, “Market Square Select represents the strength of independent retail in Ireland by bringing together our MACE and LONDIS retailers with some of the country’s most innovative food producers. This range is about making high-quality, locally produced products more accessible to customers across Ireland, while also supporting Irish suppliers to grow their businesses at scale.”
Phase one of the launch includes a curated selection of artisan-led products. The launch of Market Square Select is an extension of BWG’s Market Square own brand launched earlier in June with a broader range of everyday essentials planned to roll out across the summer under the Market Square umbrella.
The Market Square Select range includes products that have been developed in partnership with a number of Irish producers who each bring a distinct standard of heritage and quality.
Galway’s Foods of Athenry are making two Market Square Select Granolas using Irish-grown oats. The bakery is based on their family farm in east Galway and was established in 2004 as a small-scale venture that has grown into a significant local employer; producing high-quality, nutritious baked goods.
Meath’s Newgrange Gold is a family business growing and pressing their own rapeseed oil. The rapeseed for the Market Square Select Rapeseed Oil is grown on the Rogers family farm overlooking the historic Boyne Valley.
Cork’s Healy’s Honey is now in its third generation after it was established over forty years ago and will supply the Market Square Select Honey. The product is all-natural and packed in Cork.
Wexford Home Preserves are known for making award-winning jams, marmalades, and preserves. All Market Square Select jams, marmalade and chutneys are handmade in small batches using the traditional open-pot boiling method by Wexford Home Preserves.
Waterford’s Coffee House Lane sources and roasts coffee beans in small batches. Its Market Square Select Coffee is 100% speciality-grade and hand-roasted in Waterford to achieve a medium roast and is available in whole bean or ground.
