Londis has officially been announced as the new title sponsor of UCD GAA in a landmark two-year partnership. The Londis brand will be proudly emblazoned on the jerseys of UCD GAA Club’s Football, Hurling, Camogie and Handball teams.
This high-profile partnership unites one of Ireland’s best-known national and local retail brands with a club that has one of the longest and proudest traditions in Gaelic Games. Londis branding will feature across all five interdependent clubs, who field 18 teams per week in the different men’s and ladies’ competitions.
The announcement comes at an exciting time for UCD GAA, a club with a rich history for over 125 years that includes a record-breaking 34 Sigerson Cups, 32 Fitzgibbon Cup wins and 35 Ashbourne Cup Camogie titles. Beyond the silverware, the club prides itself on being a “home away from home” for students, many of whom progress to represent their counties at the highest elite level.
Community has always been at the core of the Londis brand, driven by its “Local Like You” ethos. With stores anchored in towns and villages across Ireland for over 70 years, Londis shares a deep-rooted connection with the communities its retailers serve. This exciting UCD GAA partnership extends that dedication to students at a critical stage of their lives, supporting young players from every corner of the country as they balance their academic studies with the commitment to their new team at third-level.
Conor Hayes, Londis Sales Director, shared his enthusiasm:
“We’re delighted to come on board as title sponsor of UCD GAA. Being local and part of the community is at the heart of everything we do at Londis. UCD GAA is a community in its own right, bringing together students from every county in Ireland and giving them a home away from home. Gaelic Games have a unique ability to connect people and we’re proud to support these players as they compete at the highest level of third-level sport.”
Ger Brennan, UCD GAA Executive, added:
“We’re thrilled to welcome Londis as our new title sponsor. UCD GAA has a proud tradition across Football, Hurling, Camogie and Handball, and partners like Londis allow us to keep giving our players the support they need to perform on the pitch while making the most of their time in college. Londis shares our values of community and belonging, and having their backing across all the different codes and teams is a huge boost for everyone involved with the club. We’re grateful to Londis for their support and excited about what we can achieve together.”
