Simon Community recently awarded BWG Foods’ Wholesale Division with their inaugural ‘Lasting Impact Award’ in recognition of BWG’s contribution to Simon Community’s ‘House of Cards’ Christmas campaign over the years. BWG Foods Wholesale has been contributing to the annual Christmas appeal for 12 years and are also one of the main cogs in supporting their ‘Food For Simon’ appeal.
The ‘Lasting Impact Award’ was presented in recognition of this ongoing support and draws inspiration from the mural on the gable end of the Dublin Simon Community Camden Street charity shop at the corner of Grantham Street, Dublin 2. The much-loved and spectacular mural has seen several iterations over the years and is rejuvenated specially for varying Simon Community campaigns and appeals, including their ‘U Are Not Less” campaign upon which the artwork is based.
The artwork was presented to Simon Marriott, Chief Operations Officer, BWG Foods by Simon Community CEO Sam McGuinness, who commented: “BWG Foods have been long-time supporters of the Simon Community and the generosity of their contributions have a tangible and positive impact on the Simon Community’s support for the most vulnerable people in our society. It is through contributions like those of BWG Foods that we are able to affect our mission and empower people to access and retain a home by providing housing, prevention, addiction treatment, emergency response and other targeted interventions, through advocacy and partnership. On their behalf, this ‘Lasting Impact Award’ acknowledges the great impact BWG Foods has had and continues to have.”
BWG Foods, through its wholesale and retail divisions, supports many causes and charities with Simon Marriott commenting: “Everyone in BWG Foods is passionate about the charitable causes we support through our Wholesale and Retail Divisions. As one of Ireland’s leading companies we are very proud to support the work of the Simon Community. I am delighted to accept this wonderful award from the Simon Community on behalf of the BWG team and it will take pride of place in our head office.”
